Furniture making is not a major part of my work, but I do enjoy the challenge of designing and making the occasional piece for a clients who have specific requirements.
Mahogany Display Table
This table was made for a customer who had spent many years looking for a coffee table which could also be used to display a collection of interesting objects. I used re-cycled (antique) mahogany, and designed it along traditional antique lines, with a bevelled toughened glass insert in the lid. The interior was lined with silk.
Walnut Porthole Table
This table was made for a customer who had salvaged a porthole from one of the pre-war ocean liners, and wanted it put to good use as a table top. The design is intended to give a period 1930’s feel to the table.
