Alabaster vase lamp conversion

I have always been interested in lighting, and have made many lamps from turned wood, so when I was asked to convert an antique alabaster vase into a lamp, I jumped at the opportunity, and decided to make a double fitting to allow the base to be lit up from the inside as well as the shade. The fitting in the vase top was custom made from perspex so as not to cast a shadow on the vase. The result was stunning, with the vaseĀ emitting a wonderful warm glow, which highlighted the delicate crystalline structure of the alabaster.
